FREE Private functions room available at both our South Yarra & City Locations
Oriental Tea House has 3 private dining rooms/areas. We cater for all types of functions, including business lunches, mini conferences, birthdays, engagements, weddings and any other special event you can think of. The entire Oriental Tea House is also available for private functions for up to 300 guests.

Chapel St, South Yarra
A beautiful private dining room is located upstairs and can cater for 30 - 50 people for a sit down function, or up to 75 people for a standing cocktail function. The room is equipped with its own fully functional stocked bar, and seating arrangements can be tailored to your needs. Blinds allow for the room to blacked out, or open them up and enjoy the view onto vibrant Chapel Street.

Lt Collins, City
White Room
A cute room with walls finished in a glamorous white gloss and adorned with Chinese tea artefacts. Separate from the restaurant, it has semi-see-through netting, still allowing plenty of natural light in. It’s perfect for a mini-event or business lunch; catering for 10 - 18 people sit down.

Emperor's Mezzanine
A large mezzanine overlooks the restaurant yet still feels private and secluded. The space is roomy and relaxed, great for cocktail-style functions and events, with room for up to 50 people. A mixture of bench seats against an exposed bluestone wall and soft, plush, couch-style armchairs make this a great informal area; or even a softly lit romantic dinner environment when we add tables and chairs.

Our Menu
The menu offers authentic Shanghai recipes with an amazing variety of tastes; from delicious scallop dumplings and crisp vegetarian delights, to succulent meat parcels and exquisite seafood delicacies. Our in-house event coordinator will create a sumptuous banquet, business lunch or a stylish cocktail party with a real difference. We also offer ‘All You Can Eat’ Yum Cha and/or drink packages. Everything is tailored to your needs and budget.
