David Zhou started his culinary career with a small tea shop on Chapel Street, Prahran back in 1993. Since then, he's remained loyal to the teachings and traditions of dumplings and tea, growing his business to become one of Melbourne's favourite tea and yum cha destinations. Traditionally, Yum Cha has been something enjoyed on Sunday lunchtime, but David's philosophy at the Oriental Tea House is that you should be able to enjoy yum cha - the custom of eating tiny servings of different foods while sipping some freshly brewed Chinese tea - as much as you like, whenever you feel like it. Therefore, we're open all day and long after the sun has set, 7 days a week! Fresh, handmade dumplings and dim sum are created daily by our own chefs and our wide selection of teas are sourced and imported from the highest quality growers then hand blended for their distinctive flavour. All of this takes place under the watchful eye of our Dumpling & Tea Master David Zhou who remains as dedicated to Chinese tea and food today as when he first started out all those years ago.
