INTERESTING FACTS REGARDING TEA:
Peach tea is known in Eastern cultures to be a kidney cleanser and uses in detoxification. Many people claim peaches are good for relief of stomach ulcers and other digestive issues like colitis and kidney disease. This may be due to their high fiber and potassium content.

Cultivation of peaches began in China as early as 2000BC. The winds of trade brought peaches to Greece and Persia, where they were instantly accepted. The juicy fruit was also a big hit with the Romans, who cultivated it throughout the empire. From Italy, peaches made the leap across the Atlantic, where early settlers planted them throughout the East Coast. Soon they were so plentiful, local botanists thought of them as native fruits.

HOW TO BREW:
Add 360ml of boiling water to 1-2 teaspoons of tea and brew for 3-5 minutes. Serve as is. Refill with boiling water up to 3 times. The delicious ingredients can then be eaten. Try iced with fresh peach garnish. Store in a cool dry place. Serve in our Big One Tea Pot!

Upon receiving my Peach Melba, I was greeted with a sight of vibrancy. The packaging spoke many colours of modern and yet, sweeping hints of formal tradition still sprung to mind.

When I first opened the tea, the aroma of sweetness, nature and the obvious peach took dominance over all other odours. Before I knew it; I was taken by it’s fine choice of ingredients. It didn’t help that I have a soft spot for peach.

After I had left it to brew, the tea softly spoke many languages of comfort only a good tea could transcribe in the cold winter months.

Like an old friend, I nestled up to it, anticipating our meeting once more.
It was just I and the carefully brewed Peach Melba together again, and we each knew what was to come.

Gently, I lifted the hot beverage to my lips and in a moment of sheer ecstasy; my taste buds flooded with a well-defined warmth. The flavour of it’s formal ingredients mixed around my palette, gliding over all the right places. It was indescribable to say the least.

Relaxation set in and again I was at peace with nature and it’s many Peachy constituents.

Every sip became easier and easier. A warm, inviting flavour, zero fat content, 99.9% water. It was almost unfair to have such a delicious and healthy means to feel satisfied.

Truly, I look forward to what the next flavour of fine oriental tea house tea brings.

Wow! That was one passionate and very well written review, have you ever thought of becoming a copy writer?

      • Snr. MT

Certainly I have mulled over the idea of copy writing, I most definitely have the passion, vocabulary, food and beverage knowledge and enthusiasm to realise the position.
It comes down to finding an organisation that would be content with having me write for them.
        Thanks for your compliment :)

I was over the moon when I was told I’d be getting to review the Peach Melba tea. Having had the chance to come into the shop and have yum cha there, and ordering from the website so I could take OTH teas with me when I traveled last year, I was anxious to try a new flavour.

I’m onto my second cup of Peach Melba tea as I write this, and oh my! Right from the first sip of hot tea to the last gulp of chilly cold tea, it’s a joy to drink, and nibble! This is the sort of tea that you do *not* want to use a tea strainer with! It would spoil all the fun of having an Elderberry burst in your mouth, or getting to chew on a piece of dried peach.

A wonderful tea to have at any time of the day or night, and all year round! Light and fruity and sweet, with or without sugar. I use one and a bit “pinches” in my large size cup, making sure I get a piece or two of peach in there when I do it…then add water that’s been off the boil for a minute or so, and stir…making sure I leave the spoon in there for later use – have to get those yummy bits that I might have missed while drinking it!

Now, I’m off to make another cup of this stunning tea before bed!

Thank you for sending me your sample box of Peach Melba tea.

Avid tea connoisseurs, such as myself, appreciate first – the fragrance from a pot of freshly brewed tea.
The first thing I notice, is how distinct the peach aroma was.
You could close your eyes and say with certainty, it was peach – exactly as intended on your box.
And the flavor… it just swirls around and hits the spot.

It was to my surprise that the brewed tea flakes could be eaten thereafter – which makes it just that much more enjoyable.
Those defiant tea flakes that managed to float, would be the first to be chewed upon.

My biggest problem however, is not knowing whether the next box I purchase from Oriental Teahouse, will be Peach Melba again or perhaps something different from your wide selection.
This is a first-world problem at it’s worst.

Nevertheless, thank you for sending me the sample.
You’ve made many people happy; enjoying the simple pleasure, that is a nice cup of tea.

I was so happy when I got selected to review the Peach Melba tea. The parcel was delivered to my apartment early Monday morning, right on my birthday.

Honestly, I am not a big fan of fruity teas, but Peach Melba is definitely an exception. As soon as I opened the box, I can smell the beautiful peach aroma. You can tell straight away that is made from natural ingredients, nothing artificial in it. The taste is absolutely fabulous. Ive enjoyed it most after a long long long day, the fruity and sweetness flavour really help boost up my energy and release stress, especially for someone like me, who tends to get stressed easily.

I prefer to drink it cold, couple of ice cubes and a bit of sugar , just because it is more refreshing this way. A wonderful tea that you can enjoyed on its own without any snacks…Just you and your favourite TV shows or perhaps with your friends :)

Overall, I love this tea.I think the taste and aroma is very natural and unique, plus it is very health beneficial. I would highly recommend Peach Melba tea to all the tea lovers out there, and also to all the workaholics…!!!

Nevertheless, thank you very much for selecting me to review this beautiful Peach Melba tea. You have made my birthday even more special :)

I have been a big fan of the Oriental Tea House and its amazing variety of teas since it opened it’s first establishment in Chapel Street.

So I am delighted to have been selected to test its peach melba tea!Upon opening the box the beautiful aroma of fresh peaches hits me and reminds me of summer and stone fruits.

Once the tea is made it has a wonderful “nose” and a very refreshing and guilt-free taste on the palate. This tea tastes amazing either hot or cold!

Thanks Jane, hope to see you soon!

I was incredibly thrilled to finally be able to try Peach Melba, so when it arrived – I brewed some immediately.

As you open the box, you are graced with the beautiful image of dry fruits and flavours. The peach aroma hits you almost instantly, enticing you to hurry up and drink it. After pouring in some boiling water and stirring all the flavours in together …a perfectly warm tea has been made! For Winter days, this is wonderful and brings warmth within you from the very first sip. However, Turning it in to a cold tea was particularly my favourite. Sipping the sweet ice tea was refreshing and soothing. Definitely a pleasurable drink!

I would definitely encourage all Peach fans to go ahead and try this! The sweet Peach taste accompanied with all the crunchy bits and pieces are delectable.

Thank you for sending such an outstanding tea.
I can’t wait to try more flavours!

      Such a lovely review!

On receiving the Peach Melba package, I was very impressed on the presentation inside the box, however was surprised at how large it was.

On opening the iconic Oriental Teahouse box that the teas come packaged in, and opening the bag of tea itself, you are first greeted with a strong, slightly tart scent of peaches. Unforgettable once you have smelt it, as most standard peach flavours are much sweeter in nature an fail to embrace the tartness of the peach.

When boiling water is first added, it becomes a pale pink colour, and as the tea brews, it becomes darker and richer in the intensity of the colour. This is a visual cue as to when to start drinking your tea, as obviously the darker it becomes the stronger the flavours.

On opening my Oriental Teahouse glass cup-for-one in which the tea was brewing, there is an instant whiff of a darkness to the peach flavour, which lightens as the steam dissipates. On looking down into the glass, the first thing that you will notice are the apple pieces which have re-hydrated and floated to the top of the brew, along with some of the peach pieces and elderberries.

When the strainer is removed from the glass, the remaining liquid is not clear, but slightly cloudy, and has a richness of colour to it. The scent is not noticeably sweet, and the tartness is still there.

The first sip can come as a surprise to some, who might be expecting a very sweet flavour, however the tea is noticeably sour/tart, which remains true to its namesake – peaches. It is a drink that will warm you up instantly on a cold winters night, or can also be brewed and cooled for an instantly refreshing iced tea in the warm summer months. This is a very versatile tea.

For those who are looking for a tea that is sweeter, try the Oriental Teahouse Strawberries & Cream, or Raspberry & Lime varieties.

The fruit infusions from Oriental Teahouse make for a great alternative to traditional hot drinks, or a fantastic alternative to cordials as they have less sugar and colouring in them.

I think it is also a perfect tea for summer. At the moment I am enjoying it after dinner with a piece of chocolate sitting at the fire place! It’s a treat!
