There is nothing we like more then discovering a cake that offsets our specialiaty teas. A cake that is starting to become popular in Australia is the not so humble Red Velvet Cake being seen in cupcake stores and up and coming bakeries

It is adored by the Americans for its bright colour and white chocolate and cocoa interior offset by white cream cheese icing.

If we look beyond the striking appearance of this Red Velvet Cake, we will find that it has a mild chocolate flavor with a moist and tender crumb and a creamy icing that literally melts in your mouth.

For those wanting to bake the extravagant cake, our friends at Taste provide a fabulous red velvet cake recipe with a twist. Orange cream cheese icing  gives it a twist and the fresh berries adds a Australian vibe on an American classic.

Vanilla Sencha

Did you know that Vanilla Sencha is a slightly bitter green tea tamed with seductively sweet creamy vanilla making for an irresistible taste combination.

According to the International Ice Cream Association, Vanilla is by far the most popular flavor, getting a full 23% of all ice cream consumption. Inspired by this creamy and dreamy flavour, Oriental Tea House combines the rich, warm dark sugar aroma of vanilla with delicate Chinese green tea to make a very soothing, sweet and vanilla fragranced tea.
